NEW COPYRIGHT ACT

Copyright Act which is the old Law No. 19 of 2002 (UUHC Lama) was amended by Act No. 28, 2014 (new UUHC) which was passed on October 16, 2014 and declared effective since its enactment.

With the enactment of Law No. 28 In 2014, the old UUHC is no longer valid.

There are several changes, among others, the protection of the economic rights of creators and industry and law information and communication technology, in which the former laws of economic issues placed on the general explanation. Being in this new UUHC, economic rights or the Copyright Holder Creator arranged in a special article called Article 8-11, Economic Rights on the portrait in Article 12-15 and the transfer under Article 16-19.

Similarly, the term of protection, also experienced significant changes in which the new UUHC given lifetime and 70 years after their death, which in the old UUHC only given an additional 50 years after death.
Another change is the responsibility of the owner of trading venues such as malls, where if there is a violation of copyright as it sells goods suspected pirated results, the owner also may be subject to legal responsibilities.
